How to get there
There are daily flights from Buenos Aires to Salta (approximately 2h 10´), where it is advisable to get accomodation.
There is a possibility of going by bus, it is a long trip of something more than 1,400 km.
The tour can be hired in Salta but it is advisable to do it from Buenos Aires.
The Train to the Clouds leaves once a week, only from July to September one can have up to three trips a week.

The Tren a las Nubes has all the comfort that is needed for the trip: audio in several languages, travel guides in all eight wagons, bar, restaurant, post office, thelephone and also a first aid station.with doctors.
For those after real adventure, one can take the train to Socompa, near the Chilean frontier, this train can only be taken once a week, leaving every friday at 9 a.m. and returning on sundays at 5 p.m.
There are also other possible combinations: to go by train ( getting off the train before reaching La Polvorilla) and returning on horseback or by 4 wheel drive.
