Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapí
The Lake Nahuel Huapi occupies 712.160 hectares with two National Reservations in the Provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén.
It is the oldest National Park in Argentina and its origin was a donation of the Perito Francisco Moreno in 1903. The highest mountains are El Tronador (and extinguished volcano) of 3478 meters, the Catedral (2388 m), Falkner (2348 m) López (2080 m), Otto (1405 m). The Park includes mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, and woods and the Nahuel Huapi lake, which is 60.000 hectares.


Gutierrez Lake (28 K)

It has an irregular form, 7 arms and several islands. The biggest island is Victoria Island, famous for its woods. The Nahuel Huapi drains into the Río Limay, and the Río Limay into the Río Negro. There are other lakes in the Park: Correntoso, Espejo, Traful, Gutierrez, Mascardi y Guillelmo. (45 K)
