Glacier Upsala (32 K) |
The Glacier Upsala is the biggest in South America; it is
60 km long with a front wall of 4km and 60m to 120m high. It occupies
an area of 600 km and it is to the Northwest of the Lago Argentino (Northern
Arm). This glacier can only be observed from the water, and every day
a boat leaves from Puerto Bandera.

Glacier Upsala (21 K) |
It is 40 km from El Calafate. It is a trip that will take
the whole day and the wind can be very cold. One of the most interesting
panoramas are the icebergs. They float in the lake and are dark blue.
The temperature of the lake is approximately 6 degrees and near the glacier
it goes down to only 2-3 degrees.
