The Pampas
The Pampa is an extensive plain of green grass that covers the fourth
part of the Argentine territory. The legendary gaucho's
land, it has centred all the romantic fantasies of Argentina. An immense
land that helps the visitor find the way to himself.
,Extensive lucerne fields, sorghum, wheat, soy, corn or sunflowers grow
under a blue sky without end. Fields that the view cannot embrace, grass
for thousands of heads of livestock.
There is a discussion on the origin of the word "pampa": whether it derives
from the name of the indian tribe that inhabited these lands called pampas
or these men took it from the name of the land, Pampa. In Quechua language
pampa means "flat field".
