The forests of Palermo are more than 25 hectares of green park that constitute the lung of Buenos Aires (drawn towards 1870). Ideal for walks, physical exercise and to admire its vegetation, buildings and sculptures.
T he Rosedal is worth visiting (Av.del Libertador and Paseo de la Infanta), the Andalusian Patio, the Poet's Garden and the Japanese Garden (Av.Casares and Adolfo Berro).

It specialises in Argentine art; painting, sculpture, engravings, drawings and tapestries of the XIXth and XX th centuries.
The Avenida Libertador skirts the forests of Palermo from the north of the city to the centre. At its side there are buildings of great category, mansions, embassies. It also skirts the racetrack of the city and the Argentine Field for Polo where the Open of the Republic is played which is the most important polo championship in the world.
The planetary Galileo Galilei located in the intersection of Avenida del Libertador and Sarmiento offers a show of projections about the universe.
The Barrio Parque or Palermo Chico is the most exclusive residential neighbourhood in the city with a circular layout of their streets and the architectural unfolding of residences, generally of French style.
The zoo is also on the Avenida del Libertador. It was founded in 1874 and remodelled recently and near the zoo, the Botanical Garden (Av.Santa Fe 3951) (1898).
Toward the river, it is worthwhile visiting the Costanera Norte where one can walk and have a view of the endless river. In clear days one can even see the Uruguayan coast.
